Common Question

How is this different from general AI?

General AI is not gear-aware

Without structured gear data, a general-purpose AI may suggest amp channels, knobs, or controls that don't exist on your specific amp. The advice sounds right — but you can't actually dial it in.

TonesMatch maps the real control set of every amp in our database. We only recommend settings that exist on your gear.

General AI

“For Master of Puppets on your Boss Katana 50:

  • Set the Presence to 7
  • Use the Rectifier channel

⚠ 2 incorrect settings

Katana 50 has no Presence knob on the front panel. No Rectifier channel — available channels are Clean, Crunch, Lead, Brown, and Acoustic.

Common questions

What counts as a tone session?+

Each adaptation — one song matched to one rig — counts as one session. Re-running the same song against the same rig within a few minutes is treated as a retry and won't double-charge, but adapting the same song to a different guitar, amp, pedalboard, or multi-FX setup does count as a new session.

Can I cancel anytime?+

Yes — no penalty, no questions. Your saved tones stay with you until the end of your current billing period.

When will I be charged?+

Your selected monthly or annual plan is charged when you subscribe. It renews automatically at the displayed interval until you cancel.

Does it work for bass players?+

Absolutely. Both plans include full guitar and bass support — amp, cabinet, and pedal recommendations for bass rigs too.
