Original Recording
A reconstruction of the riff tone. Gear attributions and estimated settings are explained in the research notes below.
Studio recording, 1975-1976 (Dreamboat Annie sessions). The riff section is played on a 1970s Ovation Legend 1617 acoustic-electric, plugged direct or possibly through a DI box. No evidence of electric guitar or amp for the main riff. All sources and live footage confirm acoustic for riff. No pedals or effects except possible light plate reverb from studio mix.
Amp Settings
Suggested starting points on a 0–10 scale, not documented studio knob positions. Match to your gear for controls specific to your setup.
